The ground on the racecourses is a big cause for concern. No rain and very dry everywhere. Calgary and Somersby are both very happy and out in the field all day. They will not run again until next Autumn when hopefully Somersby will be stepped up to 3 miles and Calgary will race in some decent Handicap Chases. Hopefully Aintree again for the Becher Chase. We have a lovely new horse in the yard, Rock of Allen, he won a Point to Point in Ireland in March and is a gorgeous individual. Sadly, Job One, broke down at Stratford on Saturday despite the Racing Post saying he looked ungenuine and needed headgear. It is so distressing when the “Analysis” of races is so inaccurate. He will be retired and will have a home for life with a friend of the owner’s. We hope to have runners over Easter but so much depends on the weather and the ground.
