We are now well into the Summer months and despite the atrocious weather, conditions in our fields and on our gallop are good. We have a lot of the Winter jump horses from Mick Channons to be turned out into the paddocks for a couple of months grass but the nights have been too cold to leave them out full time. We still have a number of horses to ride out and educate as well, including several horses off the flat who have a future over hurdles. There are some good members of staff in the yard, with plenty of experience and we have vacancies for more horses for schooling – either young event horses or future NH types. Of late, we’ve had several recent inmates from West Lockinge run extremely well on the tracks including Four Nations (trained by George Baker) who won at 25/1 over hurdles last week at Plumpton, and Knock House who impressively won his Bumper race at Huntingdon on April 28th.
Now that the grass is growing and the ground is settling down, we are planning some day courses for the Summer. Yogi Breisner will be here shortly to give jumping instruction, so please contact us if you are interested in joining any of his Clinics.
Also we are contacting other well known riders to help riders with flat work and or showing techniques. The gallop is in constant use from outsiders and is in excellent condition as are our show jumps and schooling fences. We are also in a position to wash stable rugs (and dry them), so please watch this space for details. We will be very competitive with our rates, and we also have a brand new tumble drier for horse wear. Great care will be taken with your rugs!
