The weather looked a lot better at the beginning of the week but is now cold and windy again with the possibility of more rain. At least the grass is starting to grow and the paddocks look better.
Several of the horses which we’ve had in for schooling/jumping have run really well on the racecourses (jumped superbly) so that is most encouraging.
We are able to take more in at any time as we have good riders and the ground is riding really well in our schooling field. Jumping lessons are available, from myself and Yogi Breisner when he’s here. For further details ring my mobile 07860 110153.
Calgary Bay and Somersby are now reunited and have returned from their season at Mick Channon’s. They both go out in the field together and are blissfully happy. We also have Loch Ba and Viva Steve back here for summer grass. They are 2 exciting horses for next season. The latter will go Novice chasing in the Autumn.
Balbriggan and Warden Hill are still in training and will probably run again while the ground lasts. Knock House, the 4 year old, is due to contest a bumper race before he is roughed off for May and June. Being by Old Vic, he will need a test of stamina and some cut in the ground but he’s a very nice young horse.
