Sandbags?

The ground on the racecourses is very soft/heavy at the moment and, as everybody knows, the country is in a bad way with all the floods.  Some shocking stories.

Mick Channon's horses which came from here are continuing to do well.  Balbriggan was 3rd in the Novice Chase at Ascot on Saturday and Loch Ba was 2nd on the Friday in a 3 mile Handicap Chase.  They both jumped really well with Dominic Elsworth on board.  The ground was not ideal for either of them as they are such good movers but everybody was pleased and they are 2 lovely genuine horses.  Knock House, by Old Vic aged 3 years and bred as a 3 mile Chaser, was 6th at Lingfield on Tuesday in a 1m 5f Juvenile Bumper on the All Weather surface.  He ran a most encouraging race and stayed on well.  Tycoon's Reflection runs at Newbury on Friday in a 2m 6f Handicap Hurdle and Ballypatrick runs in a Novice Handicap Chase on Saturday.
